Online learning centres have become a game-changer for industry-focused businesses. Especially in the safety world, accessing resources to help keep people safe shouldn’t be difficult, which is why Vanguard’s new centre has made it easier to find what you are looking for. Whether you want product explainers, the latest industry insights or project case studies, it’s all a few clicks away.
Understanding Steel Barriers and Their Costs
Whether you are considering investing in barriers or upgrading existing steel barriers. Understanding how they fit into your budget is crucial. In our recent article, we provided everything you need to know about the cost of steel barriers, including alternative options and the factors that influence the cost.
It’s essential to make informed decisions to determine what’s right for your workplace situation and budget. Check out the article to see whether steel is right for you.
Exploring Traffic Management Solutions
Cones have long been a part of our roading landscape, but other options are growing in popularity. New Zealand has recently moved.
From a prescriptive to a risk-based approach, letting traffic managers tailor plans to site-specific risks instead of following strict rules like using cones. We’ve written an article outlining the main delineation devices available, and when they work best, road cones will always play a major role in TTM, particularly for the short term.
But other options, such as flexi posts and separators, suit medium to long-term sites and can better address risk. Choosing the right option can reduce maintenance, improve safety, and allow traffic to flow more smoothly. At the end of the day, it’s about more than compliance. It’s about protecting workers and ensuring efficiency.
So if you’re involved in TTM, make sure to check it out.
Composite vs. Steel Road Plates
Composite or steel, which road play is better? For decades, steel was the go-to. But what contractors are finding is that their operations are becoming safer and more efficient when they switch to composite. That means less time struggling and more time working.
For many projects, composite isn’t just an alternative. It’s the smarter, safer way forward. Make sure to check out our composite plates video for a full breakdown, a lead times dragging your project.
Ensuring Timely Project Deliveries
We’re always being asked about lead times and whether we have what you need in stock. With a fully stocked Wellington warehouse, we guarantee orders placed by 3:00 PM will be dispatched the same day.
Holding stock both locally and centrally ensures you have what you need when you need it. At Vanguard, we take care of delivery timeframes so you can have confidence of your project staying on track. Hey, Brendan from Vanguard here.
Upcoming Industry Events and Innovations
Vanguard is excited to be attending the New Zealand Cold Storage Association Conference in Napier.
My esteemed colleague, Timothy Boon, and I will be mixing and mingling with other suppliers and industry professionals to discuss the future of cold storage. We’ll have a range of cool innovations on hand, including our LED projected line marking system and projected signage, along with the energy-absorbing bollards and barriers.
So if you can make it to Napier, come along, we’d love to meet you. Events like this remind us that it’s not just about products, but about understanding what you are trying to achieve, so that we can help you find the right solutions to create safe and productive workplaces. Keep an eye out for us at the Food Tech Pac Tech Show at the Auckland Showgrounds from the 2nd to the 4th of September.
Now over to our CEO, Gareth.
Final Insights from the CEO
For some final insights. In an environment where everyone is trying to do more with less, we can sometimes fall into a trap of glossing over areas which may have the biggest risk from a consequence point of view rather than a likelihood point of view. What really helped sharpen my thinking on that was.
Methods like the bow tie method, rather than ranking by likelihood. The bow tie really focuses on what if that event happened, and can we live with the result? We don’t have the luxury of doing nothing, but we do get to choose where we should prioritise, focus and spend. And my challenge to you is, in that environment, are we prioritising our spend or our focus where our critical risks are?
That’s all for now. If you are interested in any of the articles or videos we’ve discussed, they’re all available for free on our online learning centre. Thank you for watching, and we look forward to seeing you here again next month.
